eVISITOR - ELIGIBLE PASSPORTS (REGULATION 1.11C)
Key Words: eVISITOR
Date: 26/07/2013
Summary
- This Instrument is made under paragraph 1.11C of the Migration Regulations 1994 (‘the Regulations’).
- Regulation 1.11C provides that a passport is an eVisitor-eligible passport if it is a valid passport of a kind specified by the Minister in an instrument in writing as an eVisitor-eligible passport, and the conditions (if any) specified in the instrument are satisfied.
- The purpose of the Instrument is to specify the kinds of passports that are eVisitor-eligible passports, in relation to an application made for an eVisitor visa by an applicant. In particular, this instrument adds Croatian passports, where the passport indicates that the applicant is a national of Croatia, as eVisitor eligible passports. Croatia will join the European Union on 1 July 2013 and the Instrument acts to provide Croatia with the same Visitor visa product available to other European Union member states.
